Testimony Tuesday: I am so joining!

Testimony Tuesday: I am so joining!

“Thank you for enrolling me at Covenant.” I hear this gratitude from my teenage son weekly this year, his first year at Covenant Academy.

Ryan visited on a shadow day last winter and half-way through the day enthusiastically announced, “I'm so joining. I AM SO JOINING!”Joining is not the verb you would expect, but that's precisely what you do at CA. You link. You connect. Within a few hours, he knew Covenant was different, and he wanted to join this fellowship of learners and believers.

I AM SO JOINING!”

He is only ten weeks into school at CA, but he will tell anyone that he has learned more in ten weeks than he has in the last two years. I agree. What he perhaps doesn't yet realize is that he has tried and been exposed to new things that he would have never dreamed of trying or doing in atypical middle school.

The seemingly small nuances of classical education
have a profound ripple effect that
we will enjoy seeing throughout his life.

He performs on a stage in drama class, learns about our judicial system and rhetoric through a mock trial, and plays chess after school. Soon, he will take everything that he has been learning about the laws of physics and apply them at the amusement park on Kemah Boardwalk. Because his studies have purpose and application, conversations at home are much more fulfilling, too.  The seemingly small nuances of classical education have a profound ripple effect that I know we will enjoy seeing throughout his life.

While he says that he has learned more in ten weeks than the last two years, I venture to say that he has smiled more in the last ten weeks than he has in the last two years. For that and so much more, thank you Covenant Academy.

Sincerely,
Beth Patterson
