Testimony Tuesday: We weren't in the market for private schools.

Testimony Tuesday: We weren't in the market for private schools.

When we found Covenant we weren’t in the market for private schools. We had toured a few schools over the past year, but we were not convinced that the education offered by any of the schools that we visited was worth extra investment. The public elementary school in our neighborhood had pretty good ratings after all, and the other schools we visited didn’t seem to offer much more than slightly better academics with the addition of a religious education component.

Because Christ is the foundation of Covenant,
the values they espouse at school are the values
that we live by at home, and there is no interruption
between life at school and life at home.

Plus we assumed that private school education would probably start mattering more in third grade and beyond, so why not just save now and then start thinking more seriously about other options later?

In July 2015, our good friend heard about Covenant and wanted to check it out. She wanted someone to tour the school with her, so we volunteered. Maybe it would be a good option for the future, we thought, we’ll check it out, but we are definitely not considering it for kindergarten.

In the parking lot after the tour we said with surprised certainty that this is where we want our daughter to go to school – not next year, but next month, in August when school starts.

This past year at Covenant has been a beautiful blessing for our family. We have seen our daughter grow in character and we too have grown as parents.

"...there is no interruption between life at school
and life at home."

Because Christ is the foundation of Covenant, the values they espouse at school are the values that we live by at home, and there is no interruption between life at school and life at home.

Regular conversations with teachers, the administration and other parents are opportunities that have helped us to become better parents. Parent-teacher conferences are not just academic discussions about how we can make our daughter a high achiever. They are intimate moments with our child’s instructor that help us see ways that we can work together to educate our daughter’s heart.

These are just a few of the reasons why we love Covenant. We are thankful to have found a school that strives not only to provide an excellent academic education, but also to impart the spiritual virtues that help our daughter grow in faith every day.

Sincerely,
The Gallo Family
